    Default TW overheating

Today the TW did something it's never done before: the needle went almost to hot. It was a cool 15C day, and the coolant level was fully or nearly so. The car was idling in traffic. It's a v well maintained 190k car. Any suggestions for what I should do next would be much appreciated.

Did you resolve the significant cooling problems that you were experiencing late last year?

I have had a thermostat fail and stay shut.

Remove the thermostat and test it works

About a year ago it was using coolant, but after replacing the radiator cap the problem seemed to go away. Today I let it idle for about 30 minutes, stayed cool. The fans are off when the temp gauge is low, one turns on when it warms up; both run when the AC is on. I think they are OK. So it's an intermittent issue.

If it is the thermostat, parts list thread:

    https://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/sh...=1#post1595155

says genuine part # is MD350415

About $55 including postage from an aftermarket supplier for this genuine part number.

Maybe ring MitsFix or a Mitsubishi dealer for another price?
